Objective

Every year for their symposium, Kois Center sends out postcards to graduates and assistants that announce the date of the symposium and the date when registration opens. The logo must be incorporated into the front side with the event name and its hashtag. The back needs the right details for mailing and extra details about symposium and the related dates.

Process

If there is a special guest speaker coming for the symposium, the CEO encourages me to take inspiration from them. For the 2021 postcard, I utilized a grid of dots to build the Kois Center logo out of them. The somewhat desaturated colors came from inverting the Kois Center’s gold color. To match the speaker for 2022 and make it stand out from the previous year, the card featured a stock image painting of a sailboat beside a large wave, and using Photoshop, the logo was warped and blended into the wave. The back side’s section with the save the date information for both cards continues the themes from the front sides, like the dots in the 2021 card and the wave in the 2022 card.
