Objective

The digital manual for the Kois Center Symposium showcases a cover that represents the theme of the event. The cover required the Kois Center logo and text, the symposium label with the year, the theme title, and a visual, like a photo or an illustration.

Process

The header and footer of the cover match with the previous year’s cover for consistency. Using digital painting, I worked to make the cover be energized, passionate, and hopeful like the theme title. The textures add roughness and naturalness to the mountain scene, and the softer colors in the distance paired with the warm sunrise behind radiate warm, peaceful feeling. With the dentist on the rock, they were drawn in a confident, sturdy pose as they face a new dawn and a new challenge in the distance.
