Objective

For Motion Design class, the final assignment was a short video or mock trailer related to the theme of red threads and their symbolism of connections and fate. We were also required to record and add a sound to the video, like sound effects or voice acting.

Process

I wrote down ideas and created a rough storyboard. The concept behind this trailer blended ideas like the 1920s, steam punk, scientists, magicians, and time manipulation as a way of weaving the red thread of fate in their own perception. Many of the animations aimed more for abstract and stylistic effects and transitions. Additionally, I recorded myself doing the narration of the trailer with my own microphone, and I cleaned and prepared the voice afterwards with sound editing software.
